Cathy Bates

Associate Partner

Cathy Bates - Senior Consultant with Vantage Technology Consulting Group

Our Strategic Planning and Technology Management group has flourished under Cathy’s leadership as she continues to grow our service offerings and personnel. Her promotion to Associate Partner is in recognition of her endeavors at Vantage and the higher education community.

She is a respected leader amongst her peers and with our clients, providing executive advisory services to C-Suite leaders at institutions.  Recognizing a need in the higher education IT community, Cathy provides meaningful tools, worksheets, advice, and outreach programs to combat rising issues and concerns. Her quarterly “CIO Strategic Minute” articles include topics: Embarking on a New Leadership Role and A More Intentional Development Plan for Emerging Leaders.

She started the Leadership Lounge mentoring program that connects top university CIOs and IT leaders with future leaders in the industry. The program offers additional depth and diversity to mentoring conversations while helping expand networks and make meaningful connections in the community.

Abigail Day

Principal

Recognizing her successful leadership with our Design and Engineering group, Abigail has been promoted to Principal.

Our clients praise her ability to facilitate smooth communication among all members of the team and find pragmatic technology solutions. Internally, she has implemented workflow processes that benefit our clients and internal staff. She has been instrumental in our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion group, facilitating discussions to create an inclusive work environment.

Her contributions to the AEC community include being on the Board of Directors of CREW Boston and Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Development Project Management Group for CREW Boston. Her involvement with CREW promotes connecting women who are professionally engaged in commercial real estate work or services by providing a forum for discussion, education, and fundraising.

Joanna Grama

Vice President

Recognizing her dedicated support to our clients and contributions to the information security industry, Joanna Grama has been promoted to Vice President.

She has guided many institutions with executive advisory services in the development and improvement of information security and privacy programs, roadmaps, and implementation plans. Joanna’s knowledge in policy and privacy are sought after by colleges and universities, as well as organizations for speaking engagements, panels, and articles.

Joanna’s contribution to the information security community has included multiple examples of scholarship, leadership, and service. She served as a senior fellow for The Future of Privacy Forum, was a co-keynote speaker at the 2021 Arizona State University Digital Trust Summit, and co-wrote a featured article in the Society of Technical Communication’s July/August 2021 issue of Intercom on cybersecurity awareness education with Vantage Strategic Consultant Valerie Vogel. Joanna writes frequently about how institutions can be prepared for emerging information security and privacy regulations, in addition to serving as a mentor for Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) and the Executive Women’s Forum (EWF). Her dedication to best practices in information security and privacy is celebrated by the community, our clients, and Vantage.

Matthew Somogyi

Computer Systems Analyst, BIM Manager

Matthew Somogyi - Lead Engineer at Vantage Technology Consulting Group

Matthew has been an integral part of our production team and his ability to analyze workflow processes and implement solutions that increase productivity has been recognized in his promotion to BIM Manager.

With experience in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam Revu, Matthew has applied his deep understanding of BIM to a variety of education, healthcare, commercial, and residential projects. He leverages his knowledge of details and unique families within Revit to create functional models. Matthew will continue his support of our internal staff and clients with managing all BIM activities and standards.
