Roozbeh Afzal, RCDD – promoted to Associate
Rooz has set the performance bar very high in his three years at Vantage. An accomplished technology professional, Rooz specializes in the design of data centers and technology rooms, cable containment and distribution systems, structured cabling, audiovisual and security systems.
Rooz is a natural leader with an eye for detail who never loses sight of the big picture. His range of experience includes hospitals and medical centers, institutions of higher education and an array of corporate facilities and clients. Most significantly, Rooz serves as team leader on two of Vantage’s most complex, large-scale projects: the Sutter Health / California Pacific Medical Center St. Luke’s Replacement Campus and Van Ness and Geary Campus in San Francisco.
Anthony “AJ” Escomiendo, RCDD – promoted to Consultant
AJ joined the Vantage team in late 2012 as a Design Engineer specializing in IT, AV infrastructure and security designs. He has made significant contributions to many important, high-profile Vantage projects that include the renovation of DIRECTV’s corporate offices in El Segundo, an updated security system for LA’s historic Ford Theater, and the design of the technology infrastructure for the Biological and Physical Sciences Building at UC San Diego.
He holds a BA in Design, is a member of BICSI, and recently earned his RCDD certification. He applies his extensive 3D design and Building Information Modeling (BIM) skills to many projects, and draws from this knowledge base to analyze unique spaces and design elements to produce creative technical solutions.
Michelle Welchhance – promoted to Finance and Business Controller
It takes a firm hand and a deft touch to keep an office like ours running at peak efficiency. As Finance and Business Controller, Michelle draws upon 26 years of experience in the engineering and construction industries to do just that.
An essential member of the Vantage team since 2012, Michelle originally joined the group as Financial Support Manager. Her promotion reflects the high level of responsibility she now shoulders. She executes her duties with skill and grace while maintaining a standard of professionalism and good humor that inspires us all. Perhaps most importantly, her knowledge and skill set provide Michelle with a unique ability to anticipate problems, avoid difficulties and uphold the high standards Vantage is known for.
