Shannon has nearly 15 years of professional experience in higher education and almost a decade leading complex projects and program development across public, government, and private sectors. She brings a deep understanding of strategic planning and visioning in higher education technology and connects communication, inclusivity, and collaboration to cultivate diverse stakeholder engagement and community building.

She is an advocate for student and institution success and recently presented "Instructional Design Outside the Lines: Creatively Repurposing Technology for Holistic Student Success" at the 2021 EDUCAUSE ELI Annual Conference.

Prior to joining Vantage, she was the Assistant Director for the University of Florida Information Technology and led the development of the University of Florida Strategic Plan for IT 2020-2025: Our Purpose. Our Legacy.

Shannon’s community service includes a leadership role in the EDUCAUSE Young Professionals Community Group and is the recipient of the 2020 EDUCAUSE Rising Star Award, recognized for “contributing to advances in instructional technology; for advocating for excellence in teaching and learning; for promoting student success; for championing diversity, equity, and inclusion; for being a supportive mentor and insightful leader.”

Shannon holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Anthropology from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Art History from New College of Florida.
