SUMMARY
Bluebeam is a software company headquartered in Pasadena, CA who specializes in designing tools for creating, editing, marketing up, collaborating and sharing PDF documents for the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.
Vantage was brought in to provide technology consulting, engineering and design services for a 50,000 square foot tenant improvement for Bluebeam’s new corporate headquarters office space. Working with the client and the design team, Vantage assisted with the planning, architectural integration, system design and deployment technology systems, with an emphasis on security, including:
- Electronic security systems for video surveillance
- Access control
- Duress alarms
- Intrusion detection
Due to the cloud-based and software-based nature of the client, cyber security knowledge and understanding was an important aspect to address. We approached the designs to the all IP-based system with a cybersecurity mindset. Best practices and guidelines for Bluebeam’s IT team were established for implementation and maintenance of their system, policies, and procedures.
The project is the winner of the 2019 Elliot A. Boxerbaum Award for security design project of the year at the 2019 Consult Conference. This award is the security industry’s only award recognizing excellence in security system design, highlighting collaboration, design excellence, uniqueness, and creativity.
