Vantage is pleased to welcome Kim Milford to the team as an Executive Strategic Consultant! In her new role, Kim will leverage her experience in technology, cybersecurity and privacy leadership roles in higher education on behalf of our clients.

Prior to joining Vantage, Kim served as Deputy CIO and Chief Information Security and Privacy Officer (CISPO) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). In that role, she led strategy, direction, and innovation related to cybersecurity, identity protection, and privacy as a strong component of a sophisticated and complex technology division.
Additionally, she previously served as the Executive Director of the REN-ISAC, providing member institutions with strategies and tactics to protect their environments from cyberthreats. She began her career in higher education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an information security manager, later taking on cybersecurity, IT management, privacy and data governance roles at the University of Rochester, Indiana University, and finally UIUC.
Kim’s background, from managing enterprise security programs to leading collaborative initiatives in research and education, reflects a commitment to thoughtful, partnership-focused leadership that I know will serve our clients well.

Kim regularly shares her cybersecurity knowledge at national and regional conferences and serves on advisory boards pertinent to the field, including BSides Bloomington. She has a B.S. in Accounting from Saint Louis University and a J.D. from University of Illinois Chicago Law School.
Kim is based in Indiana, where she enjoys the quiet of her small town. She loves to travel, spend time with family, knit, and crochet in her free time.
