Vantage Welcomes New Consultant Matt Morton 923 544 Vantage Technology Consulting Group

Vantage Technology Consulting Group is excited to announce that Matt Morton has joined our firm as a Consultant. Matt has more than 20 years of experience in higher education and corporate IT arenas with a strong focus on information security and IT management, organizational development and strategic technology architecture.

Cathy Bates, Associate Vice President in Vantage’s Boston office, said:

“Matt is an accomplished higher education leader. He brings a great deal of experience in information security, IT Governance and organizational change initiatives. He is an engaged member of the higher education community and a great resource for our strategic work.”

Most recently, Matt was the Executive Director, Security and Identity, and Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Nebraska. Prior to that, Matt served as the Chief Information Security Officer and Assistant Chief Information Officer at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where he established the Information Security Department by utilizing existing resources and repurposing staff from other IT support roles.

Matt is a frequent speaker on the topics of information security and IT governance. Recent speaking topics include GDPR, Security Governance, and a NIST 800-171 workshop.

Before his University of Nebraska experience, Matt worked as an independent consultant and as the Director of Information Services at Buena Vista University. Matt graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a degree in Management Information Systems and from Upper Iowa University with a masters in Higher Education Administration.  He also holds CISSP, CISM and CGEIT certifications through ISC2 and ISACA.

Matt joins Vantage’s strategic consulting service focusing on higher education where he will contribute to our firm’s thought leadership in:

  • Information security program and policy development
  • IT governance
  • Strategic planning and organizational assessments
