Roozbeh Afzal, principal in Vantage’s Los Angeles office, said:

“Michael is a Technology Strategist and Consultant with a wealth of knowledge in the Education and Healthcare markets. He takes a level-headed and holistic approach to designing and integrating systems and constantly works to bring value to the projects and clients he’s engaged with. I’m looking forward to partnering and collaborating with Michael on future projects.”

At his most recent post, Michael managed the Southern California operations, from business development all the way through project delivery, of a technology consulting firm. Throughout his career, he has worked with many of the leading architectural firms as well as directly with end-users and owners, helping him develop a great understanding of how to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and assist clients in championing technology initiatives through internal hurdles.

Michael has a bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College in Computer Engineering and is a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers as well as the ACE Mentor program. He maintains a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification from AVIXA (formerly InfoComm), the industry’s leading audiovisual standards governing body.

Given recent market trends, Michael has worked on many security assessment, feasibility, master-planning, and design projects for large school districts and campuses. Based on his experience in this area, he recently wrote an article for Campus Security & Life Safety magazine on how to develop efficient lockdown procedures on school campuses, a current industry hot topic.

On a personal note, Michael is a second-degree Taekwondo black belt, hikes and camps often without leaving his pet husky behind, and enjoys creative and technical writing.
