Michael has over a decade of experience as a technology consultant, engineer, and project manager. His engineering and management experience spans across the telecommunications, security electronics, and audiovisual disciplines. With a client-focused and operationally-centric approach, Michael strives to deliver innovative system designs and masterplans that complement the functions of the built environment and contribute to the client’s business goals.
Michael believes that the efficient application of technology starts with understanding the operational goals of a client and a thoughtful approach at the architectural and environmental design levels. Given his strong background working with architects and end-users, he has the skills to turn operational requirements into technology system requirements and communicate them through narratives and construction documents.
Specific to security, Michael has ample experience implementing Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles which are used to positively enhance the security of an environment prior to the implementation of technology. The technology systems he’s designed include video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, structured cabling, WiFi, DAS, digital signage, paging, and presentation systems. His involvement has been from high level master planning, assessment, and feasibility studies all the way through full system design and construction administration.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Manhattan College and is a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers as well as the ACE Mentor program. He maintains a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification from AVIXA (formerly InfoComm).
