Information Technology Infrastructure Designer

Vantage is looking for an Information Technology Infrastructure Designer to design structured cabling and low-voltage systems for our wide range of healthcare clients.

What You Will Do

As an Information Technology Infrastructure Designer, you will contribute to our system and application designs and the associated deliverables for our clients. You will be responsible for creating deliverables; researching and analyzing new technologies, applications, and systems; and providing support on multiple projects (varying in size and scope) with complex technology requirements. In particular, you will:

  • Provide technical design and consulting leadership
    • Provide design services for healthcare technology systems including:
      • Structured Cabling systems, including Cat 6A and optical fiber cabling systems
      • Real Time Location Systems (RTLS)
      • Patient Engagement Systems (aka patient television)
      • Nurse Call and Code Alarm Systems
      • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and Emergency Responder Radio Communications Systems (ERRCS)
      • Other healthcare low voltage systems (such as clocks, elapsed timers, P-Tube, refrigerator monitoring, etc.)
    • Assign and explain duties to other support staff and designers working on projects
    • Document design decisions, meeting notes, and client standards
    • Coordinate design and schedule with other Vantage disciplines
    • Provide quality assurance and quality control reviews of your own projects as well as other projects in the firm
  • Improve internal work products
    • Help improve templates and processes
    • Ensure process and procedure documentation is up to date
  • Maintain existing professional qualifications and add new qualifications applicable to healthcare technology and low voltage system design

What You Will Need

We are seeking candidates with strength in some of our preferred skills listed below and a desire to learn and grow in others.

  • Technical skills and experience
    • RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) with BICSI Knowledge of healthcare technology design standards, codes, and best practices (including knowledge of FGI and OSHPD/HCAI experience)
    • Understanding of the design and milestone delivery phases in the production of construction documents and specifications
    • 2-5 years of experience in a technology consulting, design and engineering, or related field
    • Experience in working with integrated technology systems, where multiple technology systems and applications are connected to provide innovative solutions

Travel Required:

  • Flexible hours and work-from-home position
  • Occasional travel to client sites, conferences, and the company offices in Concord, MA, and Los Angeles, CA

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000 to $120,000 per year plus benefits

Schedule: Flexible hours, with an expectation of approx. 40 hours per week

Supplemental pay types: Performance bonus pay

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Design: 2-5 years
  • Healthcare (or related field): 2-5 years
  • Technology integration:  2-5 years
